Dr. Mark Sakakura performs various Dental Cosmetic Procedures. View the procedures listed below to see before and after images and to read more information about each one.

Bleaching

Teeth can often be whitened using various techniques of “bleaching” available today. Bleaching can be performed “in-office” or using a “take-home” kit.

Results vary from individual to individual. We will be happy to help you decide which method is best for you. Some factors include the intensity of the stain, whether you have fillings or crowns and what may have caused the stains.

Extra tough cases can be readily handled with the celebrated KOR bleaching technique.

Bonding

Bonding is a cosmetic procedure used to restore chipped, worn, stained or poorly shaped teeth. Biologically bonded materials can even be used to close annoying gaps between any teeth. The procedure requires minimal tooth preparation and many times can be performed comfortably without anesthesia.

Bridge

A bridge is a device used to fill the space where a tooth is missing. A typical dental bridge consists of a pontic (replacement tooth) that is attached to two surrounding teeth (abutments). Once complete, the bridge structure is bonded or cemented into the mouth. Without the use of a bridge, spaces in the mouth can cause multiple teeth to shift leading to jaw or gum problems/periodontal disease.

Crowns

When a tooth is cracked, decayed, or damaged, a crown may be needed. A dental crown is a permanent covering that fits over the original tooth. Crowns can be made of zirconia, emax, or other types of aesthetic materials. Traditional gold or a combination of porcelain and gold can also be used. Dr. Sakakura will help you choose the method most appropriate for your situation.

Full Mouth

If you a missing several teeth, an implant supported bridge is an option.

Dr. Sakakura and his associates will consult with you using the latest state of the art cone beam CT to determine if you are a good candidate for implant procedures. Additional procedures/services are available to ensure the success of your dental implant. This may include bone grafting to strengthen the implant site.

Implants

If you are missing a tooth, one implant and an implant crown can replace it. An implant replaces both the lost natural tooth and its root.

White Fillings

If old dark colored fillings are an issue, then modern tooth colored resin fillings are the way to go. They are bio-compatibly bonded to the tooth surface and can be much more conservative in preserving and strengthening tooth structure. Our office has not used silver/amalgam fillings for over 30 years.

Old worn-out silver/amalgam fillings are removed with the utmost care using biological barriers, high speed suction and voluminous quantities of water for your protection.

Veneers

Dental veneers (sometimes called porcelain veneers or porcelain laminates) are wafer-thin, custom shells of tooth-colored material designed to cover the front surface of teeth. These shells are biologically bonded to the front of the tooth changing their color, shape, size or length and resulting in improved appearance. They can be made out of porcelain, zirconia, emax or resin. Call our office to schedule a complimentary consultation to determine which material would be best for your tooth transformation.
